Mr. Sarbendra Pachhai

Founder of Friends of Bird

Mr. Pachhai is a keen and enthusiastic bird lover, and also one of the founders of Friends of Bird (FoB). He is involved in the adventure tourism industry with a passion for birdwatching. He was born and grew up in Kathmandu valley, known for its rich biodiversity and abundance of flora and fauna.

He has extensive knowledge of local birds native to the region. He has also participated in conservation and awareness programmes about birdlife sustainability, motivating the younger generation to contribute towards preserving and protecting the natural habitat of the birdlife in Nepal. He is a keen photographer and some of his photographs are seen in the book “Garden Birds of Nepal” published by FoB.

Mr. Pachhai’s strong decision making and leadership ability led him to be the President of Bird Conservation Nepal (BCN) from 2012 to 2014. During his presidency several activities were carried out to promote BCN’s vision for conservation. He is also a Patron of BCN and a Founder President of Jane Goodall Institute Nepal.
