Mr. Lalit J. Lalchan
Founder of Friends of Bird
Mr. Lalchan is one of the core team members and founder of Friends of Bird (FoB). He used to go birdwatching more than 4 decades ago surrounding the hills of Kathmandu valley and has the same passion so far. Having a double master’s degree in Meteorology (M.Sc.) and Population Studies (M.A.), he has proper knowledge and understanding about Nepal’s nature diversity, wildlife conservation as well as human and social economic development.
He is definitely a nature lover but also a great social worker. He has explored many urban and rural areas for his social work and donation programmes in Nepal. In addition to being a senior citizen, he is a smart mind, kind-hearted and soft-spoken. He motivates a younger generation to do nature conservation, awareness and social work in the community.
Mr. Lalchan is also one of the founding members of Bird Conservation Nepal (BCN) formerly known as Nepal Bird Watching Club (NBWC) Established in 1982. Since then, he has been continuously engaged in birdwatching, conservation and social work. Such kind of his journey is much appreciable and exemplary work to the newer generation. Mr. Lalchan is a Patron of BCN and also associated with Lions Clubs International and Community based social Organization.
